If You Have Been Hurt by Abuse

If you have experienced abuse — whether recently or in the past — we want you to know that you are not alone. The Diocese of Brentwood is committed to listening with compassion, responding with care, and supporting you on the path towards healing. This page contains resources and guidance for anyone who has been hurt by abuse, including survivors of abuse within the Church. Whether you are ready to speak now or simply seeking information, you are welcome here, and we are here to help.

Not sure where to begin?

We understand that speaking out can be incredibly difficult. That’s why we offer a simple two-step approach to help you take things at your own pace. Whether you're seeking information or ready to talk, you are not alone. Support is available — when and how you're ready

Step 1: Find Out More

This step is here to help you understand more about what support is available, what making a complaint might involve, and what your options are. You do not have to take any action until you are ready. We invite you to explore the information and resources at your own pace.

Step 2: Ready to Make Contact

If you feel ready to speak to someone or make a complaint, we are here to listen and to help. You can contact our Safeguarding Team in confidence. We will take your concerns seriously, treat you with respect, and work with you to ensure you are supported every step of the way.
